Reproduction Antique Mirrors

The Looking Glass of Bath

Anthony Reed

The Looking Glass of Bath

logo_202

Anthony Reed Picture Frames was established in 1964 specialising in the framing of antique pictures & prints, with frames of suitable design and finish. In 1986 we set up Looking Glass of Bath which has since been trading from the next door shop in Walcot Street, where we make and restore picture frames.

We now have two workshops, one on the upper floors of 94 & 96 Walcot Street, and one in a converted range of stables in the village of Chew Magna near Bristol. It is here that the larger mirrors and picture frames are made and hand finished. Besides our team of skilled craftsmen we have three restorers working in our Bath premises. One specialises in oil paintings while another, carves restores and re-gilds antique picture and mirror frames, whilst the third cleans and restores books, prints, parchment etc.

For anyone looking for a particular period mirror or just seeking inspiration, a visit to either one of our shops, set in the historic heart of the Georgian and Roman city of Bath, will be an unforgettable experience.

Number 94 will demonstrate the possibilities and practicality of using one of our authentic replica mirrors in your own home. Whilst a visit to Number 96 offers the chance to view our extensive range of pictures chosen from collections and galleries around the world and all framed by ourselves in our own workshops.
